Using the Pillar Candle in Decorating

Candles can be an attractive and easy way to accessorize a room, and pillar candles are no exception. With the vast array of colors, shapes, and sizes available, it’s easy to find one to match most any décor.

One of my favorite ways to decorate with pillars is by using them in the faux fireplaces that are showing up in so many homes. You can make a nice arrangement of different sized pillars, then light all of them to give your room a bright glow. I like to mix about five or six different sizes of the same color, but there are endless attractive combinations to be made. Another thing about burning them in a faux fireplace is that the soot remains unseen, instead of rising to your ceiling. They also work in real fireplaces – just be sure to use fire safety precautions as you would burning them anywhere.

You can also make attractive candle centerpieces with pillars. One idea is to take a large reflective plate or other large pillar plate, and make your own arrangement on it, then add decorative touches like ivy spread around it, or maybe seashells for a summer party. Once again, the possibilities are endless.

Whatever scent, shape, or size you’re looking for, you’re sure to find a vast array of great pillars from our favorite candle shops!
